Within the space of eighteen months or so, this expat American domiciled in the U.K, lost both her guitarist/boyfriend and her bass player to the ravages of smack, half of the band just gone . . . that alone would've been enough to send many people into total and life fucking depression . . . doubtless she felt like giving it all away, thank the universe she didn't !!
From the moment I first heard and saw her in the clip for 'Brass in Pocket' in my final year of high school, it might've even been earlier on The Kenny Everett Video Show, I thought she was the perfect combination of sexiness and flatout cool, like, exceptional !!! She totally did it for me, had real smarts, played a Tele, wrote great tunes, looked gorgeous/sexy/tough and just rocked out everytime . . . she had it all goin on !!!
Over thirty years nothing has changed for me, she is ageing gracefully and with consumate style and cool, she and Martin Chambers, the drummer, are still playin awesome gigs, she is articulate and savvy with a well balanced view of the world and I still reckon she's the sexiest, coolest woman in rock !!!
