"BARBER-CYCLE" AND THE ULTRA RETRO-ESQUE D.A.H HILL CLIMBER AT THE 2011 NEW ORDER SHOW . . . . 'MR NAKASUGI' IS CLEARLY OBSESSED BEYOND MOST WHEN IT COMES TO FASTIDIOUS ATTENTION TO DETAIL . . . . . UM, YEAH !!!!

AFTER HAVING READ THE GROOVY ARTICLE IN THE LATEST EDITION OF "DICE" MAG, I DECIDED TO SEE IF I COULD LAY MY HANDS ON SOME FOOTAGE OF THE PETRALI TRIBUTE BIKE THIS FREAK GENIUS PUT TOGETHER . . . . I FULLY DUDDED ON THAT SCORE BUT JAGGED A WINNER WITH THIS ONE . . . .

It's obviously a walk in the park to turn out this type of thing, just find any old EL, rip off the rocker covers, extend the rear end, throw some chain on the arse end and off you go, Mr Nakasugi surely had this up and chewing dirt in the space of a couple of weekends . . . . get fucked !!!

This piece of arch retro kit took over fifteen years to get from brainwave to hillside . . . . no detailed mechanical blueprints, no super macro photos, no easy access to the Harley archives or the museum, it was all done from his memory and vision . . . . bit by back to the future bit . . . .

He couldn't source an original period vert dirt monster, [the man's clearly not a sqillionaire], so the bloke decides to make his own, as you do. It's not an exact replica and it's not suposed to be, it's one beautiful lunatic's shrine to an old bike he adored, his personal ode to a two wheeled wonder from yesteryear . . . .

The exposed valve gear and push rods, total loss oil system, frame geometry, 'bars and front end, choice of gully gouging gear and the chain wrapped around the rear bag, all his own handiwork . . . . but the jigger is also stuffed to the gills with his own original and inspired touches, shit that ain't just about 'period correct' but function and reality . . . .

However you 'dice' it, I reckon Mr Nakasugi has built one wicked testomonial to a previous classic that is obviously very near and dear to his heart, that's the thing that truly blows my mind on this project . . . . well done son, mag fucking nificent !!!!
