XTC, THE KINGS OF QUIRK WITH "ARE YOU RECIEVING ME" . . . . THE PERFECT SYNTHESIS OF POST PUNK ANGST AND POP SENSIBILITY . . . . ASCERBIC, WITTY, BITING AND BRISTLING WITH CYNICISM . . . . TOO FUCKING GOOD !!!!

ANDY PARTRIDGE, COLIN GOULDING AND CREW GAVE THE WORLD SOME OF THE GREATEST TUNES OF THE POST '77 EPOCH, UTTERLY UNIQUE AND COMPLETELY IN THEIR OWN GENRE . . . . SO FOCUSED WERE THEY AT WRITING  SHARP LYRICS IN CAHOOTS WITH SUPER QUIRKY, AMPED UP MELODIES THAT THE GOOD PEOPLE AT 'BRITISH STEEL' TRIED TO SUE THEM OVER THE CLASSIC "MAKING PLANS FOR NIGEL . . . .

A BIT CLOSE TO THE BONE APPARENTLY OLD BOY, WE CAN'T HAVE THE PROLS MOCKING OUR ETONIAN/OXBRIDGE TRADITIONS, HEY WHAT, NOTHING WRONG WITH 'JOBS FOR THE BOYS' I SAY . . . . "LIVING THROUGH ANOTHER CUBA" ALONG WITH "GENERALS AND MAJORS" LIKELY HAD THE LADS FROM SWINDON ON THE 'MUST WATCH LIST' FOR MI5 FOR SOME TIME . . . .

Anyhoo, this is a wicked little ditty about the awkwardness of young love and hormone management from the dork/geek male perspective . . . . diggin being around the girl of your cream but never quite sure of what to do . . . . you good lookin types probably never felt that shit, but for those of us not endowed with 'the right profile', it was always a bit of a struggle . . . . XTC, love em !!!!
