AHOY THERE LOVEYMUCKER, CHECK THIS OUT . . . . DISREGARD THE FACT IT MIGHTN'T BE TO YOUR PERSONAL TASTE . . . . BUT AS AN OVERALL FRAME LINE CONCEPT FOR A RIGID . . . . I SAW IT AGES AGO IN SEVERAL PLACES AND STILL RECKON IT'S PERTY COOL . . . . COMPACT, TIGHT AND NO UGLY ANGLES AND IT'S A SHOVEL AS WELL . . . . GET BACK TO ME BROTHERMAN, JUST BRAINSTORMING . . . .

  1. yo whitey, epic 'mail my man re. the musical legends! will reply in depth via e-mither, yep, know what your saying regarding the shovel, lines are ok but still not as clean as you would get with a rigid frame, to me it just drops away a little too steeply behind the seat down to the rear axle? i know it solves a lot of problems going this way, no need to fab brackets to mount the oil tank, footpegs, battery, light's blah, blah, blah that you have to do when using an aftermarket rigid frame, i reckon you can still keep the swingarm set-up and still have a funky little bike, it's not what you bolt on, it's what you take off, barse ran his shovel in a santee rigid frame for a couple of years before putting it back in the swingarm set-up and it's a cool bike in it's own right, i'll get some pic's of the santee frame and how it looks now in the swingarm frame, might be useful to compare and contrast? still, this is a nice looking scoot in it's own right, guess it's all down to personal preferences, much respect whitey, you are a musical legend in the bailey household! lovester x

Ah, the old Mucker, knew I could rely on you to forgo any sugar coating, I agree re the line does drop away a little relative to a weld on or hand fabbed rendition, but to be honest, I think in this case, that's part of the allure for me, every other bolt on jigger has looked like total pox but the way this one mates to the frame proper and the angles being as they are are makes me like it . . . if I was going to fault most rigids from my perspective it's that they stretch out too long, I dig this because it's almost like a shorter wheelbase deal and 'appears' to bring the rear end closer to the motor/box/cradle, so many full rigid jobs just seem too long and have 'holes' in them . . . but I see what you're sayin mate and really appreciate no being pandered to, I'll await the pics of Barse's model with anticipation.     P.S - the complete rigid frame a la Santee is sadly not an option mucker, way too much bullshit and trauma to get it registered in the land of the Queens, otherwise I'd be all over one of Mullins Chain Drive 'Witchfinder General' jobbies, fucking awesome stuff for sure . . . as for musical legend brother, just a lucky boy with a modicum of talent, much love to the clan.

  3. I was so distracted by the four spoke invader I didn't even notice weld on(or is it bolted on?)hard tail. Has he put many miles on that wheel? I've always liked the invaders but have had several old ones with cracks around the spokes.

I could well imagine that their simple beauty is compromised by a lack of strength Wes, but yeah, it's the bolt on rear end that I'm focusing on, really don't want to mess with the integrity of a pretty much 'virgin' frame on the FXE, in case I want to do some swapping or selling for some worthwhile future project, cheers mate, hope the renovation caper is going well.
