DAVE BRUBECK "TAKE FIVE" 1966 . . . . A SERIOUSLY SAD DAY FOR THE WORLD OF MUSIC . . . . JAZZ PIONEER AND ALL ROUND COOL DUDE, DAVE BRUBECK HAS TAKEN THE FINAL FIVE AND GONE TO THE BIG JAZZ CLUB IN THE SKY . . . . LIKE MANY OF HIS GENERATION, LAID DOWN THE FOUNDATION FOR SO MUCH OF WHAT WE DIG TODAY . . . . IF YOU DON'T KNOW, SEEK IT OUT . . . . ENDURING, PERPETUAL COOL, RIP.

WHILE NEVER QUITE AS BENT OUT OF SHAPE AS THE DAVIS INSPIRED SCHOOL OF HARD BOP, THE MAN WAS A MELODY UBER MEISTER, FOR ME, A TOUCHSTONE WITH MY EARLY CHILDHOOD COURTESY OF MUM AND DAD, THE CAR RADIO AND A MILLION HAPPY MEMORIES . . . . UPLIFTING, COOL MUSIC YOU CAN FEEL, DON'T EVER BE AFRAID OF FEELING GOOD INSIDE, BLOKES THAT CAN'T, OR WORSE STILL, DON'T ACKNOWLEDGE ITS PRESENCE AND MAGNIFICENCE, ARE THE REAL SISSIES, MAN UP, GET HAPPY !!!
DAVE BRUBECK . . . . 06/12/20 - 05/12/12 . . . . RIP

  1. Just shy of 92, good long run though...keep a Brubeck CD in the car. My favorite for driving into the Bay area...
