AND THIS ONE'S FOR NOOTSTER AND THE HERMIT OF FINK HOLLOW . . . . A REAL CUTE LITTLE '62 NOVA SIGHTED AT THE BRUNSWICK SHOW ON SUNDAY . . . . CHEVY'S FIRST FORAY INTO THE COMPACT MARKET TO COMBAT THE FALCON, I ALWAYS THOUGHT IT WAS THE WINNER OF THE PAIR BASED ON LOOKS, I THINK AT ONE POINT THEY EVEN SHOEHORNED A FUELIE 'VETTE MOTOR UNDER THE BONNET . . . . THIS RED ROCKET WAS MOTORVATED BY THE VENERABLE 327

I GUESS THE THING THAT REALLY DREW ME TO THIS TIDY EXAMPLE WAS THE WELL CONSIDERED AND RESTRAINED APPROACH TO AESTHETICS, IT'S AN ODE TO LESS IS MORE AND THAT'S THE SHIT I REALLY LOVE IN A BIKE OR A CAR . . . . NO EXTRANEOUS CRUD HANGING OFF THE BODY ANYWHERE, KNIFE SHARP LINES FROM THE GRILL TO THE TAIL LIGHTS, COMPLETELY SYMPATHETIC YET MODERN SELECTION OF ROLLERS AND THE STANCE FROM HELL . . . . YEP, BIGGEST AIN'T ALWAYS BEST, BUT LESS IS ALWAYS SO MUCH MORE . . . . LEARN IT, KNOW IT, LIVE IT.

  1. Excellent synopsis, Whitey. The Nova came in many variants. Families drove the four-door model, little old ladies went to church socials in the coupe with its six cylinder fuel sipper, and the small-block V-8's were popular with the High School grease Jockeys.
These cars were cheap and plentiful in The States in the mid seventies. I bought my '68 for $125.00 cash after working at McDonalds for a few weeks. After which I promptly quit.

    1. Cheers Herm, 125 clams wouldn't even get you a wiper arm out here these days, seems like they were a legit broad spectrum vehicle, I remember reading in some mag forever ago they initially even offered them with a four pot . . . or did I dream it ??

    1. Geared in the basement, love it man !! Find the room man, if you got the moula, get it while you can. Cheers Noot very much, I'm stoked you're still dropping in, it doesn't have to be some formal 'follower' thang, that's not why I started it, and thanks so much for the invite, I'll shoot it off to ya. Enjoy your brilliant Iowan world man, love your work.

  3. Heard that they had to re-name the Nova to sell it in Mexico and other Spanish speaking countries, supposedly because the name translated to'no-go',,,course this could all be a crock considering the jokester/prankster friend of mine that told me this an age or two ago...
