ON THE ROAD, SELLING LIVER DAMAGE AND DEBAUCHERY . . . . IF YA HAVE TO WORK FOR 'THE MAN', MAKE SURE IT'S DOING SOMETHING YA LOVE . . . . ALMOST WITHOUT EXCEPTION ON THE OCCASIONS I'VE NOT BEEN SELF EMPLOYED THAT'S HOW IT'S BEEN FOR ME, I COULDN'T IMAGINE TOILING AWAY AT A GIG I HATE TURNING UP TO . . . . I LOVE SELLING FINE VINO, I LOVE DRIVING AND RIDING AND I LOVE EATING GOOD NOSH AND DRINKING GOOD PISS !!!!

YEP, THINGS COULD BE A WHOLE LOT WORSE, HAVING ONLY JOINED THE 'REAL WORLD' AT THE REASONABLY ADVANCED AGE OF FORTY, I'D OFTEN WONDERED WHAT THE FUCK I WAS GOING TO DO FOR A QUID AS A 'GROWN UP', I'D TROWELED UNI FOR A LIFE OF ROCK+ROLL, NO QUALIFICATIONS OTHER THAN A MASTER'S DEGREE IN EXCESS AND STUPIDITY . . . . TURNS OUT I HAD A NATURAL APTITUDE FOR WINE APPRECIATION, AND NOT JUST DRINKING THE STUFF, TWELVE YEARS DOWN THE TRACK I'M PRETTY BLOODY HAPPY WITH THINGS, A COUPLE OF INTERNATIONALLY ACKNOWLEDGED CERTIFICATES, A NATIONAL WINE TASTING TROPHY UP AGAINST 400 SNOTTY, WINE KNOB, FLASH RESTAURANT, SOMMELIER TYPES AND A KICKARSE DAY GIG TURNING GENERALLY GOOD PEOPLE ONTO BRILLIANT HIGH END BOOZE . . . . YEAH, SHIT COULD BE A WHOLE BUNCH WORSE.

FLASHES FROM YESTERDAY'S ROAD TRIPPIN', NOSH NIBBLIN' AND VINO SIPPIN' . . . .

    1. Great to hear from you Assman, thought you'd vanished into the Bluegrass . . . lots of good pinot from Oregon my friend, I'd imagine you should be able to get a half decent one from around the $30 US . . . Argyle, Luminous Hills, BethelHeights, Winderlea, Rex, St Innocent and Domain Drouhin are but a tiny handful that come to mind . . . sadly mate it's the hardest grape to grow, even harder to grow well and really fucking hard to make into great wine, hence, not cheap . . . take care buddy.
