I never had a clue what 'pride' was before I became a father, pride in yourself or something you've made or done or been part of is one thing, but experiencing a real and heartfelt pride in your child is one whole other thing entirely . . . . sitting there watching my now thirteen year old daughter going through her moves before the big exam gave me such a sense of pride and joy, it's beyond attempting to put into words anymore than that. Fathers Day . . . . now I really get it. Thank you my darling girl, I love you so very much and I'm so proud of you.
P.S - and she really wasn't that weirded out by my turning up on the bike . . . . well, maybe just a bit.
Ey up Dog, bless you and the Lizzster, oh to be a dad, it,s hard enough to have a son, but a daughter, that's a different league all together, when my Jess was competing in Karate competitions I felt every punch and kick, just to let you know Mucker, it don't get any easier as they get older, in fact, it just gets harder......
ReplyDeleteTa Lovey, the dose of reality for things yet to be couldn't have come from a better source, I think I'm up for and if not, I'll wing it as we always do. XX

DeletePride is a powerful drug and as our kids grow so does the need for it. Its amazing sometimes to think our kids come from what we are and have become. And they still love us. Beautiful shots and I'm sure you were beaming.
ReplyDeleteMan, that is superbly put, right on the head, a crystal clear observation. Cheers Anchorman, appreciated.
