I'VE BEEN DRIVIN' ALL NIGHT, MY HAND'S WET ON THE WHEEL . . . . THERE'S A VOICE IN MY HEAD, THAT DRIVES MY HEEL . . . . IT'S MY BABY CALLIN', SAYS I NEED YOU HERE . . . . AND IT'S HALF PAST FOUR AND I'M SHIFTIN' GEAR . . . . WE'VE GOT A WAVE IN THE AIR . . . . RADAR LOVE

GOLDEN EARRING "RADAR LOVE' . . . . HOW CAN YOU NOT DIG THIS MUSICAL MONOLITH, POSSIBLY THE ULTIMATE DRIVING TUNE, THESE FLYING DUTCHMEN HAVE LEFT US ALL WITH AN AGELESS MUSICAL LEGACY, HALFWAY BETWEEN 'RIDERS ON THE STORM' AND 'SPACE TRUCKIN' . . . . IT CAME ON THE RADIO AS I WAS DRIVING HOME IN THE RAIN TONIGHT, JUST A SHORT, HOUR'S TRIP, SAFE IN THE SOFTLY ILLUMINATED COCKPIT OF THE VINO MOBILE, THE MOOD SHIFTED TO SOMETHING JUST A BEE'S DICK MALEVOLENT AS SOON AS THE BASS KICKED IN . . . . ONE MORE RADAR LOVER'S GONE.

    1. Conjuring up the classic image of the jock in the darkened booth, sunnies on, smoke wafting around, low, breathy voice introducing the tune, and the driver, reaching across and twisting the volume knob just a little louder. Nice Laz, evocative stuff.
