Geoff's been putting together a hellishly decent collection of classic sickles for the last eighteen months since his super fund went tits up, and this remarkable 1972 FX, alias the Super Glide, is the latest edition to his stable and had me in one seriously prolonged conniption fit, not to mention bringing a horn to the Y-fronts and drool to my lips, like I mentioned, the Super Glide is my favourite hoggly of all time . . . . he spent untold hours sussing it out with the seller in the states before committing to laying down the reddies to bring the jigger out to Oz for a life with a true HD nutter and historian. Apart from the fresh paint and NOS decals on the tanks and guards it is an AMCA certified 98 point, unrestored, original condition example . . . . honest patina, a lovely veneer of gentle use and fuck all miles on the clock . . . . interestingly, the two points it had deducted were for the chrome chain guard not being an original fitment part, in the case, the experts in the AMCA got it wrong, cause it was indeed as it left the factory, but Geoffro won't be losing any shuteye over two pissy little points. Well done mate, couldn't have gone to a more deserving bloke.
REAL COOL SHIT - REAL BIKES, REAL CARS, REAL TUNES . . . . AND A LI'L BIT OF REAL VITRIOLIC RANTING . . . . AND A WHOLE BUNCH OF OTHER COOL STUFF THAT GIVES ME THE HORN . . . . unless otherwise stated, all words, blurbs and drivel herein are entirely mine. I hope you dig it. ReplyDeleteFrozen in time, that a 'Fornia license plate..?
ReplyDeleteAs I can plainly see in a larger screen...yes it is a Cal plate. That bike is amazingly unmolested.
ReplyDeleteYes Laz, it's an amazing thing, over the last twenty five years since being a partner in Classic Bike Tune I've seen so many bikes and yet so very few of any marque in this kind of shape, a real killer.
