"CHAINSAW" - AN EARLY INCARNATION OF DENVER DAN'S HIGHLY ACCLAIMED, FREQUENTLY EVOLVED CHOP . . .COOL JUST KEPT GETTIN COOLER

I FIND MYSELF MORE AND MORE OVER THE LAST YEAR, LOOKING BACK THROUGH ALL MY OLD ISSUES OF BIKE MAGS IN MY BEDROOM, LIVING ROOM, THE DUNNY, THE GARAGE, ALL OVER THE HOUSE REALLY . . . . SOME GOING BACK TO THE EARLY SEVENTIES . . . . TREASURE HUNTING.

LIKE MANY OF YOU, I HAVE NO PARTICULAR MISSION DURING THIS EMINENTLY ENJOYABLE PROCESS, I SUPPOSE INSPIRATION IS ONE ANGLE AND TAKING A DUMP IS OFTEN ANOTHER, NOT THEFT OF SOMEONE ELSES IDEAS, RATHER LETTING A PICTURE OF A RIDE I'VE ALWAYS LIKED SPARK MY MIND INTO CRYSTALISING WHICH WAY I WANT TO GO WITH SOME ELEMENT OF MY OWN PROJECT . . . .

There are a stack of this current generation of rider/builders who I thoroughly respect and admire and am inspired by, many of them listed in the blogs I follow, a few are from a crew who even preceeds guys my age, they are passing the flame and the baton to all those prepared to take them up and to run with it.

I really dig checkin out the bikes and the articles, the clips on PooTube, time and time again, hour after hour, just sucking it all in and letting it spontaneously gel in my subconcious so it's simply 'there' when I need to draw upon it, the pursuit of knowledge, history and understanding is endless and rewarding, even in the world of bikes, whatever your bag is.

Furthermore, now that I've taken the plunge and started this blogging shindig after ten plus years of pathetic, passive and distant voyeuristic observation, swearing not to join in 'cause I was chickenshit scared of something I had no idea about, namely the net and all it has to offer, the truth is, I'm enjoying it so much more than I ever imagined I could or would . . . it's un-fucking-real !!! Just wait til I get the uploading of photos and videos mastered . . . look out world !!!

BOTTOM LINE, TO ALL THE CREW WHO OPERATE THE BLOGS I FOLLOW, ALL MY SINCERE RESPECT AND THANKS, FOR THE INSPIRATION, [SOME OF YOU I'VE BEEN 'FOLLOWING' SINCE YOU STARTED BUT I NEVER 'SIGNED ON' OUT OF FEAR OF HAVING MY PALTRY BANK ACCOUNT EMPTIED OR MY IDENTITY STOLEN, THAT WAS MY INTERNET PARANOIA AND UNDERSTANDING - WHAT A TOOL !!] THE KNOWLEDGE AND YOUR TOLERANCE WITH MY OFTEN OVER ENTHUSIASTIC COMMENTS, I GUESS I'M JUST MAKING UP FOR LOST AND WASTED TIME.

FINALLY, THE SUBJECT OF THE BIKE IN THIS POST, DENVER DAN BEGAKIS' "CHAINSAW" . . . I'M PRETTY SURE THIS WAS THE FIRST EDITION I RECALL SEEING, I THOUGHT 'WOW, TOO FUCKING COOL' AND AS IT SO HAPPENS, EVEN THOUGH IT LOST SOME OF ITS RAW APPEAL IN THE SHOT TAKEN BY THE LEGEND DUTCHMAN FEATURED HERE, IT GAINED IN SUBTLE BEAUTY AND ELEGANT FORM BY THE TIME IT REACHED 'GLOSSY STATUS' . . . DEFINITELY AN INFLUENTIAL SCOOT IN MY LITTLE WORLD . . .

  1. whiteline, mate, your blog is really something special, even without you posting photo's, it somehow add's to the charm, actually reading about what someone has to say, their opinions and belief's instead of just scrolling through the same old photo's that are endlessly regurtitated on some of the more 'trendy' blog's, photo's posted by people who have never scraped their knuckles building bikes, been riding for five minutes and had pubic hair for less time than that, like you, i'm in my fifties and been around the block a few times, i've had the beatings and handed a few out, we know what's real and what's fake, more power to you mate, keep on keepin' on...
