MIND YOU, I'D RATHER ENCOUNTER THAT ON THE STREET THAN A HUBLESS FUCKING MONSTER . . . BUT THE SERIOUSLY EDUCATIVE PORTION IS THE SNIPPET FROM JESSE JAMES' "HISTORY OF THE CHOPPER" DOCO . . .
CLIFF VAUGHS HAS STARTED TO GARNER THE PLAUDITS AND RESPECT IN THE BROADER BIKER, CHOPPER COMMUNITY SO LONG OVERDUE TO HIM, YET SO MANY BLACK GUYS IN THE CURRENT 'SCENE', [SADLY IT HAS BECOME A 'SCENE' IN MANY WAYS OVER THE LAST DECADE PLUS] AND IN THE HISTORICAL, LONGTERM CONTEXT OF CREATING BRILLIANT AND OFTEN TIMES, INLUENTIAL RIDES, CONTINUE TO GET RELATIVELY LITTLE CREDIT OR EXPOSUERE . . . So, if you've not yet seen Mr James' celluloid ode to the thing he and a whole bunch of us are so passionate about, do yourself a big fat favour and find the time to sit through it, it's a shithot film stuffed full of info, that for me, and hopefully you also, stitches together many unknown facts about not only the bike side of this magnificent motorised madness, but morever, the people and personalities behind the scenes, who are often ignored and forgotten for whatever reason . . .
Given a lot of you are attending the Great Love Fest this weekend, [I'm not talking about all the industry legends and gurus there who are virtual walking encylopaedia themselves] it's a very timely reminder that we are all bound by a shared love of one thing, and, just like music, literature, painting or whatever the fuck it is, that love is, or should be, completely colourblind, just like life . . . unfortunately, I know only too well that is often a reality that is easier said than achieved . . . but don't ever let that little speedbump get in your way !!
