"CRY BABY" THE DEPPSTER LIP SYNCING JAMES INTVELD, QUIFFED AND LOOKIN SPORTY, RETRO STYLE . . . . WHAT A CLASSIC FLICK, MEGA SUPPORTING CAST . . . . SOME SERIOUSLY FINE FEMME FATALE FLIRTATIONS . . . . GRRRRRR !!!!

I HAVE A REAL RESPECT FOR THE WAY THAT DEPP HAS PURSUED HIS CELLULOID CAREER, CONSISTENTLY CHOOSING LEFT FIELD, FREAKY, ODDBALL, 'CHARACTER' ROLES, HIS OBVIOUS PENCHANT FOR THE WEIRD, BURTON INSPIRED, DARK DUDES HE HAS OFTEN PLAYED . . . .

SO MANY FILMS THAT HAVE THE MAGICAL, CHILDLIKE QUALITIES THAT CONNECT ME WITH MY INNER KID, A MASTER OF BOTH DISGUISE AND ACCENT, I JUST RECKON HE'S MADE A BRILLIANT CAREEER OUT OF BAILING ON THE 'MATINEE IDOL' ROLES SO MANY PRODUCERS WOULD'VE HAD HIM TAKE.

I didn't realise it was Jimmy Intveld voicing the title track and others until quite recently, I can't remember who it was who informed me, might've been a Dan Begakis dude . . . . fuck, too fuzzy with a hangover the size of a really big thing, anyway, thanks for hipping me to the caper. Oddly, I thought his portrayal of Hunter S Thompson was solid but not one of his greatest gigs, I'm also a huge fan of Benicio The Bull and Terry Gilliam the director, I just always felt it should have been done by Jim Jarmusch . . . . no matter, it's all good in the Deppster's hood.

  2. Great flick, weirdo Depp and Traci FUCKING LORDS...Iggy Pop, holy shit, I can't even think of naming all the cool cats in this...just like (hell, you mentioned Jarmusch first) Dead Man...crazy shit.

Also, check out (if you already haven't) Brad Pitt in Johnny Suede..make a great double feature with this.
