THE BEATLES "TICKET TO RIDE" TOTP 1965 . . . . I'VE ALWAYS BEEN THE 'STONES TYPE' AS OPPOSED TO THE FAB FOUR FAN . . . . THIS IS ONE OF A HANDFULL OF THE MERSEY LADS TUNES THAT HAS BEEN A PERSONAL FAVE FOREVER . . . . I LOVE THE MIX OF MAUDLIN AND UPBEAT, THE SORROW AND THE SWEETNESS . . . . PLUS, LENNON WAS ALWAYS EDGY AND DARK . . . . DARK IS GOOD.

Fifty one tomorrow, all I wanna do is get the fuck out of town and avoid what mates have got planned, swag is packed, fresh oil in the Purple Penis, time to hit the frog and toad . . . . two hours of solitude and introspection on the scoot, hook up with one of my nearest and dearest and his missus, up to their mountain retreat . . . . good folk, good vino, good memories, good times . . . . adios.

    1. But Sir, the capital letter thing is my . . . um . . . er . . . idiom, that's right, idiom for an idiot !!! It's not the number 51 that wigs me out it's the palava lots of my mates are into about celebrating, the 50th bash was the biggy for the decade, this is just a number, lovin the ageing processes, and you're clearly doing splendidly mate !!!
