THE LOUNGE LIZARDS "INCIDENT ON SOUTH STREET" . . . . VIRTUOSO ODDBALL JOHN LURIE LED THIS AVANT GARDE DECONSTRUCTIONALIST JAZZ OUTFIT TO SERIOUS UNDERGROUND/ALTERNATE ACCLAIM . . . . I WAS AND REMAIN, A RESOLUTE AND ARDENT FAN . . . . THIS IS MUSIC THAT CAN MAKE YOUR SKIN CRAWL AND THE HAIRS ON YOUR BALLSAC STAND TO ATTENTION . . . . TEST YOURSELF, PUSH THE LIMITS.

THE LOUNGE LIZARDS PLAYED MUSIC THAT WAS NOT UNLIKE AURAL HEROIN MIXED WITH BAD ACID, SOUNDS THAT ALWAYS HAD ME FEELING I WAS IN SOMETHING LIKE A CROSS POLLINATION OF A JAMES ELLROY AND WILLIAM BURROUGHS NOVEL . . . . THE SOUNDS OF THE STREETS OF SOME HUGE CITY, WHERE DRIZZLE, DULL, BLEAK HALF-LIGHT AND GREYNESS ARE ALL PERVADING, PEOPLE CLOSER TO ZOMBIES TRUDGE AIMLESSLY TOWARD DECAY AND NOTHINGNESS . . . .

"INCIDENT ON SOUTH" STREET BREAKS MUSICAL CONVENTION LIKE A MADMAN BREAKING WINDOWS IN A GLASSHOUSE, HIGHLY STRUNG, INTENSE, UNCOMFORTABLE, DISCONCERTING, VERGING ON CACOPHONIC, AND FOR SOME SENSITIVE SOULS, FUCKING NEAR IMPOSSIBLE TO COME TO TERMS WITH . . . . MAY I SUGGEST A HEAVY OPIATE OR AT THE LEAST, SOME BUG POWDER DUST . . . . JUST TO GET YOU IN THE RIGHT STATE OF UNMINDEDNESS . . . . ENJOY . . . . OR NOT . . . . CARE FACTOR, ZERO. GOODNIGHT.

  2. From what an artist friend of mine has been telling me, he no longer plays music because of an advanced case of Lyme disease. I like what I've heard of his music, just now catching up to his stuff. She really likes his paintings which he's still doing.
