YET MORE GUZZALINE GOODNESS FROM THE BRUNSWICK SOIREE . . . . NO MATTER WHERE YOU GO THESE DAYS YOU CAN'T HELP BUT SPOTTING A FEW OF THE RUSTED RAT AND CRUD CUSTOM LOOK RIGS . . . . THEY PRESENT A STRANGE DUALITY FOR ME AS A FAUX PATINA SCEPTIC . . . . NONETHELESS, THEY CAN BE EVOCATIVE OF A JIGGER THAT HAS BEEN GRAZING IN THE BACK PADDOCK FOR THE LAST FOUR DECADES, UNTIL . . . . HIPSTER HERO INTERVENTION.

Even though the beginnings of the 'rat rod' caper extend back to the early mid seventies it was in the mid late nineties that a bunch of crew mostly from the film industry and other related gigs in LA really dragged it into the spotlight, but they weren't deliberately going out and applying acid to panels and just loosely throwing a shitter together, they were just building what were authentic late forties, early fifties inspired rods, at a time when all around was billet and bling . . . . as with anything, others are gonna copy it and take it all too far, you can decide for yourself if any of the jalopies in the accompanying shots are worth a squirt of billy goat's piss, whichever way you end up what can't be denied is their popularity and their role in arresting the style and fashion disasters of the eighties and nineties, don't believe me, just cast your mind back to those puke paintjobs and tons of solid, CNC billet alloy accessories of the time . . . . I sure know what I prefer to have my eyeballs confronted with.
