IF MY FXE WAS LIKE THIS, I WOULDN'T TOUCH A THING ON IT . . . . UNFORTUNATELY IT'S NOT, IT'S GOT A FAT GLIDE FRONT END AND A HIDEOUS CHROME SWINGARM . . . . STUPID PULLBACK BARS, FAT BLOBS, SHITTY FORWARD CONTROLS . . . . AND A BUNCH OF OTHER DEFORMITIES.

THIS WAY GROOVY, NEARLY STOCK STANDARD SUPER GLIDE ILLUSTRATES WHY, AS A KID IN 1972, I FELL IN LOVE WITH THEM . . . . GOTS TO GIVE WILLIE G HIS DUE, KILLER STYLE.

  1. Somebody out there on E-bay wants your old stuff, even that chromium plated swinging arm. Looking at that bike reminds me of how guys were putting the little shorty chrome fenders that came on Honda CL 350's on their narrow-glides. Just had to egg out one of the mounting holes on the fender and they bolted right on...or so the story goes...

    1. Thanks for the tips mate, already doing a bit of wheeling and dealing with the dead parts . . . the guard idea sounds brilliant Laz, should hug the rubber just perfectly and I think Honda used a generic guard for several of the mid sized models which should make it easier to locate . . . have a great weekend buddy, ciao.

  2. I liked the swingarm shovel with the chopped rear fender you posted a few posts back. I'd seen it on the web sometime before and saved the pic.(knew it looked familiar) Wouldn't take much to get your shovel looking like that. FLH or aftermarket front end and some cowbells, cut down the rear fender. I believe the FXE was raked a bit more than the FLH, but I believe the steering stems are all 1". I've an '01 Super Glide with a Heritage front end I swapped for some other parts. I lowered it 2 1/2" with a Burly lowering kit (less than a hundred bucks)

  3. Your bike, with an FLH, or aftermarket front end and cowbells could look like the swingarm shovel you posted a while back. I really dig that bike, seen it on the web before and had it saved in my pictures. Wouldn't be too costly or difficult, I believe all the steering stems are all 1".
I did it with my '01 Evo Superglide. Lowered the front end 2 1/2" with a Burly lowering kit.
    Just my 2 cents.
