IF YOU KNOW THE HISTORY, TELL THE STORY, DON'T LET THE SHIT WE LOVE BE FUCKED OVER BY THE THIEF, SELL-OUT VERSIONS . . . . BE OFFENDED, BE ANGRY, BE VIGILANT.
A custom so ahead of its time it's frequently forgotten and overlooked, so perfectly clean and devoid of extraneous bullshit . . . . old Kenny Howard had a genuine gift for all forms of art and engineering as his '49 6T amply illustrates . . . . regardless of what people 'thought' of him, his flaws and foibles, fuck that shit, the man was a god, which makes the last dozen years of blatant commercial exploitation of his nom de plume all the more deplorable . . . . I still have a Von Dutch cap that I've had since the early nineties, now faded and frayed like its owner, his name is embroidered on the cap itself as is the flying eyeball on the back, bought from a swap meet in Long Beach from the man himself prior to his demise . . . . it'll remain one of my most treasured possessions forever, despite all that his name came to represent to a generation with no appreciation of this bloke's contribution to the shit that 'we' hold so dear to our hearts.
Was just looking at the McQueen owned, restored by Kenny Howard Indian and sidecar...that made $126 K at auction. Take good care of your cap... Yeah guys like him were originals, warts and all...and the cash registers go ka-ching...ka-ching...
