MARC BOLAN AND T - REX INITIALLY STARTED OUT AS A FOLKY KINDA ACT BUT BY THE TIME THEY RELEASED THIS THEY FOUND THEMSELVES SPEARHEADING WHAT WAS TO BE LABELLED AS 'GLAM ROCK' . . . . YEAH, ALL THE SATIN AND VELVET MAY SEEM PRETTY FUCKIN LIMP THESE DAYS BUT BACK THEN IT WAS A WHOLE NEW COOL !!!!

The premise of taking some ultra basic three chord song structure and tarting it up with the new groove as the highly androgynous Bolan did proved a deadset winner, giving them a completely new and unique sound . . . . to this day, a feel that remains absolutely their own and became not only a signature, but ultimately, in the case of Bolan himself, a musical millstone, by the mid seventies he'd become disillusioned and withdrawn and not long after, it was all over . . . . he died in the same year as Elvis, another rock icon dead before his time . . . .
